Essential Information

Dry Season (June - October): Peak safari season with excellent wildlife viewing. Animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot. The Great Migration crosses the Mara River during July-September.

Green Season (November - May): Lower rates, fewer crowds, and lush landscapes. Perfect for bird watching and witnessing the wildebeest calving season in the Serengeti (January-February).

Year-Round Destinations: Zanzibar offers beautiful beaches throughout the year, though the best months are June-October and December-February.

Clothing: Neutral colors (khaki, olive, beige), layered clothing for temperature changes, comfortable walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, and a warm fleece for early morning game drives.

Essentials: Quality sunglasses, high SPF sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, camera with zoom lens, and any personal medications.

Tips: Avoid bright colors that may disturb wildlife. Pack light—most camps offer laundry services. Bring a good dust cover for camera equipment.

Vaccinations: Consult your doctor 6-8 weeks before travel. Yellow fever vaccination may be required. Recommended: Hepatitis A/B, Typhoid, and current routine vaccinations.

Malaria: Tanzania is a malaria zone. Consult with a travel medicine specialist about antimalarial medication. Use mosquito repellent and sleep under treated nets.

On Safari: Always follow your guide's instructions. Never approach or feed wildlife. Stay in vehicles during game drives unless at designated walking areas.

Do I need a visa? Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. E-visas are available online and we can assist with the application process.

What currency is used? Tanzanian Shilling (TZS), but US Dollars are widely accepted at lodges and for tips. Cards are accepted at most establishments.

Is Tanzania safe for tourists? Yes, Tanzania is one of Africa's safest destinations for tourism. Our experienced guides ensure your safety throughout your journey.

What about tipping? Tipping is customary. Typical amounts: Safari guides ($15-20/day), Lodge staff ($10-15/day per party), Porters ($1-2/bag).

Northern Circuit: Home to iconic destinations like the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Mount Kilimanjaro. Best for first-time visitors seeking the classic African safari experience.

Southern Circuit: The Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park offer a more remote, off-the-beaten-path experience with fewer tourists and excellent predator sightings.

Western Circuit: Mahale and Gombe offer world-class chimpanzee trekking experiences along the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

Coastal & Islands: Zanzibar, Mafia, and Pemba islands provide perfect beach extensions with pristine beaches, coral reefs, and historic Stone Town.
