ACACIA COLLECTIONS

Welcome to the Serengeti

Legend has it that the word Serengeti emanates from the people who have occupied this pristine land for aeons–the Maasai. Roughly translated, it means the endless plains, or “the place where the land runs on forever”. Proclaimed in 1952, and covering 14,763 km2 (5,700 sq mi) – an area larger than Connecticut or Montenegro – in the eastern Mara Region of northern Tanzania, the Serengeti National Park is revered by nature-lovers worldwide as one of the most populous wildlife destinations.

The Great Wildebeest Migration

With up to 2-million herbivores on the move, followed by hungry predators, there is never a dull moment during the migration season. The tension and drama is at its peak as the herd pauses before rushing headlong across swollen rivers, only to have to escape predators lying in wait. This is truly one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth.

Embark on thrilling game drives to witness the iconic Big Five and the annual Great Migration.

Parfait ! Parfait !

Perfect accommodations for friends trip I stayed at Acacia Serengeti back in August, during the dry season and truly loved this resort! The staff and service was really considerate and we loved the chef and her food! We even got a special lunch one day and it was this amazing chicken with a peanut sauce. Our driver, Walter, ate dinner with us each night and was great company! We were 3 friends from college traveling together and we got our own queens even though we expected twins so that was a huge plus! Would definitely go back and stay at this resort.

Acacia Rongai & Acacia Mara My husband and I had a wonderful stay at both Acaia’s Rongai & Mara Camps! Rongai: location was well located in central Sergenti with beautiful sunset views. We stayed here two non-consecutive nights, so we stayed in two different tents, both which were wonderful. The rooms were fully furnished with comfortable beds, bedding, towels, and toiletries. The full bathroom with private, flushing toilet rooms, and hot bucket shower were wonderful to have after a dusty safari day. The food at the restaurant was fresh and delicious. I have unique dietary restrictions (low-FODMAP) that the entire staff made sure to custom accommodate for all my meals. The entire staff was especially warm and friendly. Mara: we stayed here one night in between our two nights at Rongai. It has all the same great features and I have the same comments as the Rongai camp except that the food was a little less good (could have just been our options that day), and the bathroom was a little less well-appointed (shower curtain for toilet room privacy rather than wood door line Rongai, more utilitarian looking than nicely designed), but honestly without comparing the two Mara was still an incredibly comfortable stay. The manager was SO friendly at Mara. It also was my birthday during our stay and the whole staff did a lovely dance parade and cake for me to celebrate! So incredibly thoughtful. All in all, highly recommend both camps!

Magisch!!!

Authentic and fantastic!!! My stay was amazing! It is right in the Serengeti reserve and our tent was just a mile from where we sighted a leopard running up the hill! The “tent” was luxurious with a full size bed and flushing toilets and inside shower with hot water! Our safety was ensured. The dinner was very authentic and plentiful. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful- thank you Jeffrey for your joyful welcome!

Honeymoon in the Serengeti We had an amazing 3 night stay! The food, people, and view of the Serengeti were all amazing. We loved falling asleep to the sounds of nature and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We could even hear hyenas and lions at night which was such a cool experience.
